  1. 1. “If we want to attract business to Nevada that puts people back to work, the time has come to outlaw prostitution.” This means that Mr. Reid believes that prostitution is the reason that Nevada lacks appeal to businesses. Also it means that because of prostitution Nevada also has people in unemployment. This is significant because, this statement leads into the entire article, and is also the subject. This is also important because it shows how Mr. Reid feels towards prostitution and the harm he thinks it’s doing to the state of Nevada.

  2. 2.I am for the keeping of prostitution in the state of Nevada. This is simply because prostitution can’t possibly be the reason people are unemployed and businesses aren’t headed to set up shop there. I became aware of this fact early on in the reading. It didn’t affect my reading of the article at all because the way I felt then is the same way I feel now even after reading this article.

  3. 3.I was unfamiliar with the idea of why Harry Reid took an unexpected stand after re-election and wanted to end legal brothels. I believe if he got someone like Brooke Taylor to vote for him, then clearly he must’ve been towards or at least neutral towards prostitution at the time of her voting for him. Also a lot of other prostitutes probably voted for him as well thinking he wouldn’t go against them. It doesn’t make sense to me as to why he would trick them into believing he is with them and then after they voted for him, turn on them.

  4. 1.)“Here we are being safe and professional and earning a living, and he wants to end it? Abosolutely not,” said Ms. Taylor. This quote clearly shows that she feels strong about keeping her proffession legal which is prostitution. Why take away a persons job when they earning a living with it; this quote really caught my eye because anyone that feels this passionate about their proffession should not have it shut down.
2.)When Mr. Reid said “ If we want to attract business to Nevada that puts people back to work, the time has come to outlaw prostitution,” that made me realize that I was against his believes. It diffenetly took me off guards that a someone would want to end a job that makes a lot of money.

  5. 1.“When the nation thinks about Nevada, it should think about the world’s newest ideas and newest careers, not about its oldest profession.” This means that, the state of Nevada should be known for the ideas and opportunities they have to offer people. Instead they are trying to make Nevada know for prostitution. This was significant to me because no one wants to be known for something bad or a mistake they may have committed in the past, but for what they are now.

  7. 2.I am against prostitution. A person’s body is their own temple; it is not something that should be simply given away for money. Prostitution is not a real job it is merely a state of desperation. If these women want to make money then they need to put their clothes back on and get an education. That’s where the real money will come from. We were put on this earth to make a living and work hard to earn our own money and here are some ignorant people willing to throw their money away for sex.

  8. 1- “If we want to attract business to Nevada that puts people back to work, the time has come to outlaw prostitution”. I found this quote interest because is weird how Mr. Reid a senator who should be thinking about things that put Nevada in another level but in a good way, said these things. I’m not saying that prostitution should not be legal or illegal but he should be looking for others options to attract business to Nevada. Those options should be things that are good for everyone and everyone agree with them. That’s how I think senators have to deal with the problems of the state.

  9. 2- I’m not against the subject. If the people want prostitution to be legal I’m not against it, like they said the country will save a lot of money from taxes. I know people may think this is a crazy idea, but that’s how some people deal with their problems, they look for the easy way to solve them. I’m not saying I agree with the subject but if this is the only way they have to solve their problems they should do it.

  10. 3.I was an unaware with the idea that, “Visitors know to look for electronic pink signs or flashing red lights, even if they do not know exactly what to expect once they walk in the door.” It is unfortunate that visitors know the works of the brothels so easily. These clients should be embarrassed of their selves. They are so desperate to have sex and feel intimacy that they are willing to pay money to total strangers in exchange for sex and pleasure.

  11. 3- I know a lot of people want prostitution to be legal. I was unfamiliar that a senator from Nevada agrees with it. I also think he may be saying this is a good idea, so he cans have more votes from the people who think this is good like Ms. Taylor, who vote for him in the re-election.

  12. 6.In response to Nathalie M.: I agree with the fact that she stated that Brooke Taylor deserves to keep her job. What she is doing is very legal and something she likes to do. If it makes her happy and is legal, then there should honestly be no problem in doing that job. Even if her job might be looked down upon, if she is passionate than by all means pursue your dream. Also if she was to lose her job that would just lead to more unemployment which is something Mr. Reid was trying to prevent.

  13. 1.”It shows were not just another cookie-cutter state”, said Ed Goedhart Republican assemblyman from Northern Nevada. What this quote is saying that the brothels and prostitution is something that in many other states it’s illegal including some counties in Nevada but they still continue with it. They are not like other states that really try to put a stop to it. It shows how they are really trying to defend the prostitution and brothels. They will go against what Mr. Reid wants. Mr. Goedhart is saying that it will take away their uniqueness.

  14. 1.“When the nation thinks about Nevada, it should think about the world’s newest ideas and newest careers, not about its oldest profession,” this quote was significant to me because they want that when people think about Nevada think about good things and positive. But always people are going to think in the good and bad things about the place. Everything counts. They say that when you have done 100 of good things and one bad people are going always to think about the one bad that you did and not of the 100 goods you have done.

  15. 2. I really don’t care but it is a good option that they want to change things. When a person from other states and from Nevada thinks about Nevada should think of prosperity and goods for the Nation. The subject of prostitution if those ladies want to keep working on that they are going to do it anyways. They have clients and those clients have friends and those friends have more friends. The only thing is that is not going to be a public place like before.

  18. 1-There's not a big club on the strip that doesn't have their own girls. This quotation was significant to me because I think is true that in every state there's always strip clubs that have girls, that's basically how they make their money or profit. For example I went to a club in New York the other day and at the end of the night four girls come out naked to dance on top of the tables and do a show by dancing around every body. I didin't expected to be honest and I was very sorpriced.

  19. 3.)I did not know that prostitution is legal in the state on Nevada. I honestly believe that it’s a good idea, people are going to do it anyways why not in a way that is legal that way it can taxable.
4.)Why is there people that feel uncomfertable with the idea of prostitution being leagalize? It is done anyways, why not take out a beniffit out of it?

    ReplyDelete
  20. 1. The quote that was significant to me was from Ms. Taylor saying “Here we are being safe and professional and earning a living, and he wants us to end it? Absolutely not.” Ms. Taylor’s choice should be respected in what she does for a living. Our society is not use to the prostitution in how famous it was before in time. People might think if there are more jobs opportunity now why not focus on something more respectful. For Ms. Taylor if she is doing a job without hurting anyone and still manages to put food on the table than she should do what she wants. No one is going to knock on her door and give her money especially how the economy is right now. Instead she works for her money and does what she wants without troubling anyone.

  21. 2. My bias while reading this article is against what Mr. Reid wants to do and withdraw prostitution. Everyone knows prostitution is not going to stop one day to another and also prostitution is one of the oldest careers that society does not accept. If the state is known for prostitution than Mr. Reid should not abandon it because it will bring more people to the state. For prostitute it is easy money that they gain and have only worked in prostitution. The article did not hinder me in any sort of way because people should do what makes them feel accomplish. It is always said “do what makes you happy,” than if prostituting themselves make them happy than they should not be judge in what they do. Certain people judge as it as a crime to prostitute, but is also the person’s decision if they want to have just a one night stand.

  22. 3. I didn’t know that prostitution was a subject of conversation. It is basically legal in Nevada I was unfamiliar with that. I have never heard of Nevada in that way. For many women in Nevada that’s their job. If they are happy with it why should they take it away? That’s their life not yours and prostitution have nothing to do of others peoples job.

  23. 1. One quote that catches my attention is when Ms. Taylor states, “This is what I choose to do, and there’s nothing wrong with it.” The reason why this statement caught my attention is because no matter what the state legislature is trying to do to ban legal prostitution, she’s standing up for her profession and her brothel. It’s not like she’s on a street corner selling herself just to get money. She’s doing it the right way. Also , she states that “we’re entrepreneurs; we’re in a buisness for ourselves.” What she’s trying to say is that it is a buisness, she really does consider it a legal profession but the money goes to herself and the brothel. If they were to lagalize prostitution in Las Vegas, “the county could collect millions of dollars in taxes.” That’s something the state legislature should reconsider before trying to ban legal prostitution.

  24. i agree With A Abreu Prostitution can save alot of money with taxes, people will have another option for jobs, and wont be disgraced as much by the public because it is leagal not. Not only will it be legal it will be a profession so they will call themselfs proffesionals. i also agree to when he states that thats how people deal with their problems, we have all heard of those stories where the mom supports theirchild by being a prostitute while still being a good parent to the child. This doesnt mean that it makes you a bad person you just had no alternative to your problem and this is how you chose to solve it why be disgraced by other or even encarcerated.

  25. 5- Respond to Narine: I don’t think he is against prostitution, but I think he agree with it so he cans have more votes.

    ReplyDelete
  26. 2. I am not against prostitution for the fact that many women are desperate and they have no other choice. Some women do it because they want to like Ms. Taylor said and others do it because they have no other choice. If prostitution is legalized many of these women will have more protection. Some of these women have to go through a lot and suffer because according to the laws its illegal so they won’t report any incidents occurred. They don’t harm anyone, instead they are harming themselves and that’s what they chose to do. There are many other people out there making more damages to the country’s image and they don’t do anything about it.

  27. 5. In response to guiselle: Some men pay for not only just intimacy. Some actually pay just to spend time with the prostitutes, as crazy as that may seem. Some want companionship; others want intimacy, others just plain out want sex. In my opinion I believe that prostitutes are paid to fulfill the payer’s needs, no matter how ridiculous it may be. Also it normally leads into sex, which is something that I believe most people enjoy hence making them feel better.

  28. 2-This is a very controvercial subject to start with, but in my opinion I like to respect other people's decisions in terms on what they do with their life. If these women are happy with the prostitution profession let them be, as long as they're not hurting anyone is ok. They're just trying to survive like anyone else.

  30. I disagree with AAbreu. A state should not be known for prostitution. It should be known for what it has to offer the people. Although it can save money with taxes, it is not fair that their are people working 16 hour shifts to make a living and these women are giving away their bodies for money. Your body is a gift, it shouldn't be given away for money. Women who do this have never felt love in their lives.

  31. 1)The quote that I found most interesting in this passage was said by Ms.Taylor “we’re entrepreneurs we’re in business for ourselves ”.I find this quote to grasp and put together in a few words what the whole passage is trying to say. These woman have the choice to have this job and make their own money with no one to tell them what to do .Mr. Reid trying to end this job for them will bring many problem to them and is totally out of the question .

  32. 3. I was unfamiliar with how prostitution had many supporters including people from the government in Nevada. In some way what Mr. Reid said it’s true that when you think of Nevada you think of casinos, lights, and brothels. That shows how not everyone is against prostitution. By people agreeing on it and fighting for it to be legal it shows how people want it to be legalized something that I was unaware of.

  34. 4. Prostitution is all over the world. Either way is the person’s choice if they want to have intercourse with the woman. What is the problem in having a prostitution place? and does it harm the resident's in Nevada?

    ReplyDelete
  35. 1. “Ms. Taylor graduated from college and worked as an administrator in a group home for young people for several years before she became a prostitute”.
-This text caught my eye because of the fact that, Ms. Taylor has a good background starting with graduating from college to working as an administrator in a group home for your people. Why leave all that to become a prostitute? She mentions “money is not worry anymore”, so then what is the whole aspect on being a prostitute? This text shows that, Ms. Taylor is a smart woman with a background of knowledge who left all that to become to a prostitute.

    2. I am against this subject due to the fact that I find there is absolutely no point in legalizing prostitution. For what? Just to satisfy strange, creepy men? Negative! I became aware of this when I read, “Some supporters of brothels, Like Ms. Taylor, say they hope the debate will give them a chance to push to make prostitution legal in large countries in the state, where it is currently banned but widely acknowledge to exist”. Also, When Ms. Taylor said, “We’re entrepreneurs; we’re in a business for ourselves”.
    3. As I mentioned in question number two, while reading the text of Ms. Taylor graduating from college and also working with young people for several years, it made me question myself on why she would leave that all behind for the bunny ranch.
    4. What does anyone think about Ms. Taylor switching her life around to a prostitute from a college graduate and “ex” administrator in a group home for young people?
    5. My response is to Giselle: I question myself the same thing. I think that these men that pay woman for satisfaction probably because they can either addicted to intimacy, tired of their wife’s and want something new, or are just lonely and have no other choice in their eyes.

  36. 2) This article made me look at this particular subject in a different point of view. Legal prostitution before reading this article would have been something I would be against for and I wouldn’t think twice about calling an end to it .After I read this article my point of view is now different. These women choose t do this for a living and put it out in public with their head up high .why should one person put an end to that. They earn their own money and pay taxes just like everyone else leaving in the United States so why get in the way of that if it isn’t causing any damage to anyone.

In paragraph 6 on page 2, Mr. Flint tells us how prostitution is illegal in Las Vegas. However, he adds that if your a high roller you still get away with it. Seems that in nevada life is lived just like everywhere else; if you have the money you get a hall pass to whatever you desire to do. It's disguisting. How does that privledge you over anyone else! If its illegal not even money should make it legal.
    Correct me if im wrong.

  39. 3)First of all I was unaware that prostitution was legal in Nevada moreover that they would pay taxes just like everyone else with jobs in this country. That to me was very surprising to find out because I would think that it would be the opposite and that would be the reason why they would want to outlaw prostitution in the first place. This passage made me look at this profession in Nevada in a different point of view because it states facts about this job and the people that are proud of this.

  42. 1. A quote from the article that really stood out and made a lot of sense to me was one said by Ms. Taylor, who said, “This is what I choose to do, and there is nothing wrong with it.” The reason this was such a significant quote for me was because it proves that this decision was made by her own free will. She is college graduate who worked as an administrator in a group home for young people, so it’s not to say that she got in this profession because she had no other choice. And she certainly has made a name for herself, by appearing in many popular adult magazines, “The Operah Winfrey Show,” and even stars in a cable television show. So if the prostitutes are okay with it, and the visitors are obviously okay with it, why ban it?

    ReplyDelete
  43. 1.The qoute that was significant to me was what George flint said. “stay low on the brush”. Many people don’t agree with all the laws that many States have even though a high percentage do agree, but that is why we have our own voice to be able to speak our mind and say what we think . Mr. Flint who has worked as the chief lobbyist for the Nevada Brothel Owners for more than 20 yrs tends to abide by the consensus that the prostitution should just keep a low profile. Which that is what will probably happen although the brothals will be illegal.Thats howThese people have made their living for many years. I don’t think their going to quit that easily.

    ReplyDelete
  44. 1) The quote that justified my point of seeing this article would have to be “This is what I choose to do, and there is nothing wrong with it.”I liked this quote because it pointed out the main point of this article shows individualism of everybody is free to do with their life’s what they like and want to do. Nobody can force you to change your ways of life and tell you to do something else that’s your choice and if it means doing some job not well seen then be it that’s you life’s choice. So I found it rather interesting reading thisarti-cle shows many facts and freedom of expression and a job is a job they want to work at brothels that’s them we have many opportunities and in some times there’s nobody to guide you and help you. So That’s why I choose this quote it's like dices rolling and not knowing where they will stop.

  45. In response to Nathalie M. it is not that we feel uncomfortable with the idea of prostitution being legalized, it is embarrassing for a state to be known only for that reason. It is also embarrassing that these women are so lazy to get a real job that they find the easiest way to make money is to get paid for sex. These women are beginning to make all women look bad. No women wants to be seen as only a sex object, we as women have more to offer then just sex.

  46. 2. I wasn’t really for the subject at first because I never agreed on prostitutiion. If it’s illegal on the streets what makes it legal on a so called manchine, it’s just the outside beauty of it but really it’s just as bad. But come to think of it everyone knows right from wrong if these woman want to sell their bodies for a living than so be it this so called bussiness that they proclaim to be sadly has been a bussiness for them for many years, and it’s wrong to just take away something that they’ve been earning their living to survive all their life , because now they see it wrong after many years. They should of thought about that before when the manchine or Bunny Ranch was being built to begin with.

  47. 3. what I was unfamiliar with was what Mr. reid said “If we want to attract business to Nevada that puts people back to work , the time has come to out law prostitution”. It doesn’t make sense to me because either way no matter how he wants to see it’s still a business, and that’s how these people take their job to. But the way I approached it was simply he sees legal Prostitution as an unprofessional business and he wants Nevada to have a different name for itself.

    ReplyDelete
  48. 3-I didn't know that the women generally set their own rate. I thought it was the brothels owner who desires what to charge for a service, but I also think is good idea and fair to these prostitutes to set the prices themselves, because at the end of the day is their body what's being sold.

    ReplyDelete
  49. 4. Just because the brothels was Legal than for many years does that mean they can’t put an end to legal prostitution ? How do you think Mr. Reid can accomplish his goal, I mean God must have put him their for a reason? Should Mr. Reid perhaps have taken a different step to make his decision about the brothals successful to not have so many people against his choice?

  51. 1. If we want to attract business to Nevada that puts people back to work, the time has come to outlaw prostitution. I find this important because if they outlaw prostitution then brothels would be illegal so they would have to close down. If they close down then they can make new business that would make more jobs for people. Also I would give the state a better rep then it has now of its old profession

  53. 2. I agree with the text because I don’t think brothels should be legal. If prostitution in the street is illegal then, whys should a bar that has prostitutes be legal? Only because they pay taxes doesn’t mean they should allow it. Also it unsafe, STD can be spread, women can get rapped. I that why I agree with the subject. I became aware that I agreed with the subject once I knew what it was about.

  54. 3. Something that at first I was unfamiliar with from the text was when Mr. Reid commented the oldest debate about the oldest profession. At first I didn’t know what he mean or was talking about but as I kept reading I figured out that the oldest profession and debate was weather brothels be illegal or legal.
    4. Should the make the brothels illegal or add an extra tax to them?

  55. 5. My response to Nathalie. People are uncomfortable with the idea of prostitution because is not something normal in our society. Prostitution never had a good reputation about women, especially the job description that it has. Even though prostitution is one of the oldest professions that have existed in the society, people still won’t accept it. People don’t take a benefit out of it because people don’t accept that profession.

  56. 6. Guiselle: I agree and disagree. I agree with you with the fact that we should love our body and not sell it for money by giving pleasure to strangers. But at least these womens are working because i dont think it's easy for them to be a prostitute. There are many that just steal and harm others. All drugs, tatoos and piercing in some way torture our body too. At least by them working and earning their money maybe not many of them are geting services like walfare. Many people just get their monthly check and not even work 16 hour shift like you say. We work for those people. Some prostitues at least try to work.

  57. 1-The quote that I chose: “But in many ways prostitution is most apparent there, where aggressive marketers constantly pass out handbills with nude women advertised as escorts.” This quote was significant for me because prostitution is illegal in some places of Nevada but there are people who use nude women picture as a way of advertisement for their business. These pictures or however you to call them are not considered prostitution instead advertisement. The interesting fact is that in a lot of these counties where these pictures are passed out, prostitution is illegal.

If they decide to throw their body away it’s their problem sonner or later they’ll see the damage they are doing to their integrety but mean while why not make money out of people’s way of thinking at the moment?

  60. 1)”A company wants to know about power rates and housing and affordability – prostitution is just not on their radar screen.” Through quotes such as these, people who depend on prostitution for a living are brought with no other choice but to rebel. The meaning of the given quote is quite clear, legal prostitution is wanted as only a memory. Powerful words indeed and these words are significant to the topic at hand because it, as many other negative statements about legal prostitution, is the reason for why legal prostitution became a problem.
    2) On the matter of prostitution, I see women being paid for sexual acts as something that has been around for many years and if a woman feels she is comfortable with it, then by all means strive onward. A woman doing sexual acts can be related and compared to the legalization of cannabis, which is a whole other argument, but through a comparison such as this, a person should see the history of facts on both topics because both have been around for years and were never found wrong until recently. I became aware of this when these politicians speak of dignity and pride, in which they don’t want to earn for their state through prostitution, but I believe that they should not look down on people and take away a persons living as if to take candy from a baby, for dignity and pride. Through this awareness I confirm as a statement, that prostitution is just one of those jobs that a person may disagree with but should understand that it is a job.

  61. 2. While reading this article, I was recognized with legal prostitution. I feel like there’s nothing wrong with it as long as the women are doing it the right way. I do conisder it a legal profession but in order for that to happen, there’s going to be attachments that come along with that. For example, instead of it being a “buisness for themselves,” they will need to pay taxes. Even though it’s considered an old profession, it can start a new industry as well. I became aware of this topic way before reading this article. I had a similar discussion in High School and I felt the same way as I do now, I’m all for it. It didn’t make me look at the article any different because I already knew how I felt about legal prostitution. I was just considering the doubts about it but I was also looking for more reasons why they should legalize it.

  63. 5)In regards to Nathalie M question I think people are uncomftarble with the topic of prostitution for many reasons .It could have been the types of morals that they were taught by their parents and religion could also be a big reason .Not everyone has the same beliefs and could accept the same facts and in some way this is a good thing.

  64. 1. “Politicians here have always been pretty happy to ignore the brothels,” said George Flint. “Anyone who shows a lot of support for us is going to have some trouble,” he said. Basically he is stating that if the government is deciding to shut down the brothel businesses stories would be told to the public about some politician’s actual support. Maybe some of them have spent some time at these brothels and want to keep it discreet because of their role in the government. It wouldn’t look extremely good for any politician actually spending time with a prostitute and being caught.
    2. Brothels have been in business for almost 25 years, why ban it? This type of business has brought a lot of revenue to the state generating almost $50 million in a typical year. Statistics show that it has big impact towards the state because it boosts $400 million economically. Therefore I’m against banning this type of business especially if it’s been legal for a long time. The government should worry about other serious issues going on with the nation. I can’t’ believe they are actually being serious about this issue and just focusing only on it. The government just worries about the money they could possibly lose. Obviously businesses have had a dive because of the recession we are in. Prices are rising on all different products.

  65. 4-Why Mr.Reid is against prostitution now?, when he knows this is the oldest profession around the world.

  66. i dont disagree or agree with prostitution its a persons choice to do whatever they want with thier body and if its legal i would think it would be safer for the women choosing this profession

  67. 3. Only after reading the article did i become familiar with prostitution being illegal in las vegas. I thought it was illegal throughout the whole state of nevada and legal in Las Vegas. I thought otherwise because Las Vegas is very popular and like the artile said, Brothels can bring in lots of tax dollars./.

  68. 1- The quote that was significant to me was, “If we want to attract business to Nevada that puts people back to work, the time has come to outlaw prostitution.” This quote was significant to me because is not right for me that women prostitute their bodies for the return of money. What kind of job is this? Exchanging money for sexual service. I don’t believe by legalizing prostitution would help people to get more job. What they are doing is risking their lives and other people lives too. People selling themselves are at the high risk, both men and women are at risk in getting disease that has no cure. Prostitution all together should be stopped and put an end to.

2- I am against the subject because legalizing prostitution in the U.S. will spread sexually transmitted diseases. While I was reading the text I became aware right away of what is happening in Nevada. If prostitution were legal in Las Vegas, the country could collect millions of dollars in taxes, Mr. Flint said. It could help the country in many ways, but it also increases the risk of people getting any type of STD’s. I believe all women are not the same. I also think that women are not going to prostitute their bodies just to entertain a men or for money.

3- The idea I was unfamiliar with from the text was that a senator is agree with prostitution. I didn’t know that Nevada is the only U.S state that allows some legal prostitution. In my opinion I won’t prostitute my body for the exchange of money. I know if prostitution were legal in the U.S, the country could collect millions of dollars in taxes. However, I think this is not the best idea to collect millions of dollars in taxes. It doesn’t look good that a woman is selling her body to get fast money. I understand that is a job that they get the money right away, but what they need to do is to go out there and find a job.

4- If prostitution has been around for thousands of years, how can governments stop it?

  69. 5- Response to Joesell: When you said, It’s not like she’s on a street corner selling herself just to get money. She’s doing it the right way. Yes, in my opinion she's might doing the right way, but what she is doing is selling her body for money no matter what she says. I believe is not a good idea that both woman and men sells their bodies for money. If later on, in the future they want to get a job, they won't get the job because their reputation would be bad for the company. For many people legalizing prostitution might be a good idea, but what they are doing is increasing the risk of disease all over the country.

  70. 6- Response to Guiselle: I agree on what you said about, prostitution is not a real job, it is merely a state of desperation. If these women want to make money then they need to put their clothes back on and get an education. That’s where the real money will come from. We were put on this earth to make a living and work hard to earn our own money. We have to make money honestly not to go out the streets or clubs to get it fast.

  72. 2-I really believe that legalizing prostitution would benefit those places where some of these brothels would be localized. This industry could generate jobs for people who want to use their bodies as a way of making a living and would have to pay taxes which can be used for public expenses as school, etc. This new industry would employ not only people who want to exchange sexual pleasure for money but people who would work in these brothels as bartenders, maids, cooks, etc. This article didn’t hinder me because I still think as I used before I read it. I think this is a controversial issue to talk about but I have based my answer in the fact that after legalizing prostitution, in these brothels would be only adult people who really want to work there and not like in other cases of illegal prostitution in which a lot of people are forced to have sex with others and in many cases some of these people might be minors.

  74. 3-I was unfamiliar with the fact that these brothels employ an additional amount of workers such as managers, maids, etc. which represent almost half of the number of people who work there as prostitutes. Let say there is a total of four thousand people working as prostitutes; an extra two thousand people would have jobs without having to become prostitutes. These numbers will increase considerably after prostitution has been legalized.

  75. 4-Let think for a moment that we are in the year 2030 and prostitution has already been legalized all over the U.S.A. and it is considered as common as any other job. It is hard to get a job and you are desperate looking for one. Somebody offers you a job but this one is working as a prostitute. You have children to feed and bills to pay. Would you accept this offer? If you answered not, why didn’t you accept it?

  76. 5-My response to Kenia Fernandez: Kenia, You were right when you said that prostitution has been around for thousands of years. Governments can only stop legal prostitution by making laws against it, but there will be always prostitution, either legal or illegal, and who knows for how many more years it will last.

  77. 6-I agree with Nathalie M. when she said that legalizing prostitution was a good idea because it will be a big source of money for public and government expenses due to this industry will have to pay lot of money because of the taxes. Nowadays, porn is legal and it is basically the same as prostitution because instead of having sex with a stranger, you are watching strangers having sex. She mentioned that people are going to do prostitution anyway either legal or illegal and this is true because besides legal prostitution there has always been the illegal one and if it is going to be there anyway why not get benefits of it, making it legal all over the country and a taxable item.

  78. 2)Well I am nor in favor or against it cause people tend to judge others either way if you to good then its like to good to be true and if your bad then your bad. So like I said I am not in favor or against it due to the fact some times due tolife conditions and circumstances that they passed may put them to choose a different road that may have bumps and many obstacles that later in life while have bruises. So many people that see women not as women but as something that they can make money off and they will not let money go they will do it no matter who or what they have to do to get it.So I would want for people to think twice the situation cause you judge the front cover of a book but not a person.Well at the beginning of the short story I noticed basically at the title I kind of knew were they were heading to so I just needed to keep reading to confirm mydoubts. So I have my reason and thoughts made about this statement of prostitution and well noting well change it but will enforce it.So I knew some information but I read and just made my point I already had.

  79. 3)Some of many ideas was I unfamilar but one that cautght my attention would have to be the that says the following: brothels are illegal in countries with population above 400,000. I my self was uninformed about this sitatuion about that only a certain popultaion was permitted for prostitution, thought that any were they could do that it didn't matter to the people who wanted money but theirs also illegal ones that work in the independent in the streets. So this will help me to know more about this world wide sitation. Also another idea was that in las vegas is illegal I thougth that with more reason it would be legal their then any where else because many people visit and say its a wonderland not only about casinos everything their is to visit and more.Well I approached both ideas like a life situation when you have to order food and think before so I saw it and read it twice just to make sure and be able to know about it. It's intersting information and valuable one to if you don't know it.

  80. 4)why do you thin people judge know then they did back then? When Prostitution hase been here for many years.Do you think people judge more what they then how they get the money?

  81. 5-Responding to Dazna's question when she says that why Ms.Taylor switched from being a professional woman to become a prostitute, I believe it had to do with the amount of money that she was making as a administrator wasn't the same as the money that she makes as a prostitute, because from what she said in the article she became rich by being a prostitute, and she also mentioned that she doesn't worry about money anymore. With that being said Ms.Taylor has to be making a fortune with the oldest profession in the world.

  82. 6-I agree with Juan when he says that the politicians should not be too concern about prostitution and to be taking away these people's job. I also agree with juan when he says that they should not look down on these people and that these is just another job. The politicians instead should be paying more attention to other issues in society. For example, crime, job opportunities, drug abuse, education, etc.

Through a man’s mind many things can pass through their head. My point of view in men is everybody is not the same. Some are more unfaithful than others and just one to have one night stand. There are some those when they have a woman right in front of them and can be with her, there might be a big possibility that he would take the opportunity. Some do believe that these women make them feel better. Let’s face it these types of woman are being paid to seduce and give pleasure. The result can make a man feel like he has accomplish in what he wants therefore, not all man are dogs.

  84. 6. I agree every word matenco said about woman who prostitutes themselves. It’s not an easy job for a woman to go out and have a night stand with a random man just to seduce him. Especially if she has a family it would be shame for them to tell them. Some look at it as easy money and receive a lot of money in one day or night. These women are trying to make a living for themselves without hurting anyone and their choice in what they do. They should not be judge because not only prostitution has a bad name but drug dealers and other crime job as well are known not well for society. Although these jobs are dangerous they do it to feed themselves or their family.
